Dan Doiron is an award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and performer whose music blends the emotion of the blues and the spirit of rock with the storytelling soul of a troubadour who’s lived every note. From his roots in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Dan brings a dynamic mix of infectious grooves, grit, and genuine connection with songs that are as personal as they are powerful. Whether fronting his powerhouse band at a summer festival or performing solo in an intimate setting he mixes soulful songwriting, storytelling, top-tier musicianship with the energy, humour and spontaneity of a seasoned live performer.
Across four acclaimed albums—Even My Guitar Is In Love With You (2011), From Deep Inside (2013), Stand Back I Don’t Know How Loud This Thing Gets (2015), and Livin’ Centre Stage (2018)—Dan has built a reputation for songs that groove hard, hit deep, showcasing his thoughtful lyrics, intricate guitar work and stories that stay with audiences long after the lights fade.
Dan has earned national recognition for his musicianship and songwriting, twice representing Atlantic Canada at the prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis, and receiving a Canadian Maple Blues Award nomination in 2019. All four of his albums have been nominated for East Coast Music Awards and Music Nova Scotia Awards, with his latest release, Livin’ Centre Stage, winning Music Nova Scotia’s Blues Album of the Year.
Beyond the spotlight, he’s a passionate educator and advocate for creativity through life long music learning, leading guitar workshops at festivals and inspiring the next generation of musicians with initiatives such as “Blues in Schools”
